Raised in the snowy woodlands of Alaska and Montana, Jared Ronald Barton grew up in the quiet solitude that fosters serious writers. He began writing in elementary school, copying the storylines from his favorite computer games and reading ravenously a wide variety of fantasy and science fiction novels. Scribbling often late at night by candlelight, Jared spent his childhood and teenaged years developing his craft and love of writing, completing and self-publishing his first novel-length work The Lady of Frostvale as a fun high school project. After graduating, he moved to Portland, OR to pursue a degree in elementary education and graduated from Concordia University with a BA. After graduating, he moved to Vacaville, CA to be closer to family.

 

 In addition to his writing, Jared tutors a wide variety of students at the elementary, high school, and college levels, sharing his love of knowledge, learning, and of course great books.
